Dr Web found a trojan on my laptop. The trojan caused operational issues with the firewall stability and AV and Malware programs. Scanning with other programs found nothing. I tried many as you can see.
Dr Web did the job where the others failed. To be fair to Threatfire it knew something was a miss as it did advise `very high risk`, but it could not identify or kill it. Also the trojan was clever and stopped Threatfire starting when I rebooted many times. My firewall and AV Mal progs are now stable again. Many thanks to the developer. 22921

Well suited to perform either a 2nd opinion check of
your system or for use against an active exploit.
It's very adept at detecting and removing a
considerable amount of the current crop of malware. 22800

This was the 9th, yes 9th, package that I used to try to rid myself of an svchost cuckoo and a temp directory files generator. As it succeeded where all the rest of the usual suspects failed (AVG, not included in "the 9", stopping damage by the symptoms, which was important, but not spotting the source of course), I heartily endorse it as an essential companion package. The initial scan took a while to show any activity after I clicked on it, which made me think it had locked up, but other than that, "necessary and sufficient" interface. An early pop-up would be better served if it came later in the procedure, though. 21945

Although not rated for it, this seems to run fine on my Win95-B computer. 21388

Great piece of software, no installation required. Because the database updates several times daily, you will always be asked to download the latest version (~11mb) unless you run it immediately. Keep the link and download it when you need to use it, that way you will have the latest database.

This is a great program that is very simple to use, with no installation to worry about.
I have used on several PC's with more than satisfactory results. Highly recommended and better than some programs you have to pay for.
Would like to complement the manufacturers on this excellent piece of free software. 20126

Appears to be a good anti-maleware program.
No install needed. I ran it on the default
settings. So I can't complain about it showing
a few false positives (other anti maleware apps)
I don't think it's really designed for novice
users, but it may be handy for those who have
some experience with anti-malware apps.

On the face of it this is a useful tool to have if you need something portable to scan other systems with. It does have a nag screen and the update link isn't to anything incremental, it just downloads the latest version. Seems faster and more comprehensive than ClamWin portable, I've not been able to check its efficiency as a scanner or cleaner but the ICSA rating indicates it should be capable enough. Nice backup tool, hope they improve the update system though. 15738
