I didn't care for this... 10/5/2008 19:34:00

I installed and used, it's very straight forward, looks decent, small app. The problem is, it was not encrypting my files, it was creating not ONLY a back up version, but another file too. The original file that was encrypted was easily accessed, deleted, etc... and the supposed locked file when unlocked was nothing, zero, zilch, nada. The .bak was not a lot of good either as I couldn't restore the lost file anyway. I read over the help and such and wasn't doing anything wrong, it's just a bit buggy. I don't know, I think I'll leave this one lay and use my typical security encryption. 19883

Lock up your executables!... 11/3/2005 09:36:00

There aren't many freeware encryption tools (that I know of) that will successfully password-protect executables. Crypto-lock does it, and does it well. To run an encrypted EXE, just enter the correct password and the file will decrypt and run automatically. And after quitting a program, it even overwrites the decrypted EXE prior to deleting it--again, all of it done automatically. The interface, while having a snazzy skinned look, is not that intuitive, and takes some getting used to. Also, when you run it, it doesn't remember the last folder used--a real pain. Still, if you want to password-protect your executables (or any other file), Crypto-Lock does the trick nicely. 10671

Good self-extracting encryption program... 10/3/2004 22:20:00

Although this program's functionality is available in most modern zip/unzip programs, it does work quite well. The self-extracting functionality is good for when you have to send an encrypted file to someone, but don't want to make them download the same decoder. 5968
