USB Safeguard enables you to encrypt and password protect all the data on your USB drive using 256-bit AES encryption. Before you can secure your data, the program will need to initiate and format the USB drive, which means the drive should be empty or only contain disposable files. Once initiated, you can copy your files over and use the drive like any other USB drive. Each time you want to lock the drive, you will need to run the USBsafeguard.exe file and set a password. While easy to use, USB Safeguard has some major flaws: It cannot lock your drive automatically when it is unplugged (leaving your data unprotected if you forget to lock the drive); it requires you to type a new password each time you lock it, and it freely discloses the first letter of your password as a hint in case your forgot it.
