Purgy is an anti-spam software, that uses the sender verification approach, which asks the sender to confirm that s/he sent the message, before allowing it into your Inbox. The program runs as a local POP3 server that downloads all your mail periodically and then sends out confirmation requests to any sender that is not contained in your Allow list. Once a sender has confirmed the mail, he/she does not have to go through the procedure again. Purgy works with any email program, and automatically integrates with Outlook Express. Purgy is easy to use but very basic in features, and does not provide any insight or control over messages that are held, nor the responses that are sent.
