Cold Turkey is a clever little tool that can help you stay focused on your work by blocking you from accessing your favorite time-wasting websites. It comes pre-configured with several popular sites (Facebook, Youtube etc.) and you can easily add your own. You can configure how long you want to block yourself from those sites, which can be anywhere from just a few minutes to several days. Once the time has expired, Cold Turkey will automatically re-enable access to the blocked sites.
The sites that you choose to block will be unavailable in all browsers on the computer. Once you hit that button to start blocking, there is no way back! The program will not let you cancel the blocking until your self-imposed blocking period has expired! Cold Turkey uses the Windows HOST file feature to block the selected sites, which may cause some security applications to alert you of a HOST file change - you can safely ignore any alerts.
The current beta version displays the US date incorrectly as DD/MM/YYYY, which may confuse you but has no effect on the blocking period.
