AbuseShield adds an additional security layer to your system by monitoring all programs and executables, and blocking any application that has not been approved previously. AbuseShield is not a firewall, and it is not an anti-virus program - it is strictly based on executable files and running processes. An experienced user can use it to detect potential malware of just about any type. You can use AbuseShield to create rules that approve all or selected programs that are currently installed on your computer, and it will block all unknown processes and wait for your approval. A detailed process analyzer allows you to inspect every program that is currently running, view the latest activity, and create new rules. Other features include remote administration, check sum verification of files and more. AbuseShield should only be used by experienced users that feel comfortable to identify and restrict Windows processes, as the program itself cannot detect or identify any malware.
